school's out, praying work is in

school has been out for 4 days.
also, it has been CNY holidays since sunday - kinda dread this year's long holidays
CNY always leave places like ghost town. most shops would be closed and thus going out would be rather boring.
so staying at home would be a rather good option.

at home i have been cooking lunch for the family.
and i realised that i cook good beef dishes and i suck at cooking chicken dishes.
anyway, being home means a potential fight with mum - it happened twice already
yawns.
oh well nothing new, always the same old story with us

the other day went picnicking with shenath. it was nice :)
well im now currently waiting for debbie to send me gossip girl.
was not receiving anything from just now. yawns

lately, i have started on a new short story about Hailey Ortega.
she's a character, unique and quite tragical. more to come..

school's going end soon, tomorrow actually.
and therefore, i am indeed in need of a job!
thus created quite a phase of anxiety for me from the days of late.
on tuesday i called up a number that i had taken from Straits Time recruit section under part time positions.
it's a part time shop assistant job and talking with the employer, amy, i found out that it's a FLOWER shop!!!!! OMG

since like forever i've always wanted to try out a job in a flower shop!!

i know flowers are so cliche and somehow they eventually just whither and die, thus creating negative thoughts of it being just a waste of money.
HOWEVER i always know that flowers soothes the spirit and just being around them can actually liven you up.
that without proper care and too much exposure to heat, a flower can whither and die faster than their life span can extend.
this is almost the same case with us humans, metaphorically of course.
we need to be loved and be catered to and handled well, because our life span can get shorten by bad factors.

so anyway, i met her for an interview at far east shopping center, Qis Petals.
and being with amy for an hour or so, i learned that;
1. flowers are meant to be cut slanted so as the surface area of their stem can suck in more water
2. flowers' leaves are meant to be kept dried and not be wet cos it speeds up decay process
3. flowers cannot take too much heat so they need to avoid hot spots of the house
4. there are roses in india and they dont usually have big blooms
5. water for the flowers are meant to be changed after three days and that we must always avoid drowning our flowers

and more to come. i just hope i get hired!

i am on trial work next friday and saturday. & ling dun worry, i end at 3pm on saturday and im around cash studio :)
amy told me she needs people that are long term rather than temporary part timers.
that the minimum duration she wanted was 6months.
the problem with me is that i can only stay for 2 and a half months.
however, she said she'll work something out and she needs to test the other part timers before me who are interested in the job too.
amy is really nice. i hope she's nice enough to hire me too :D

I DREAMT OBAMA WAS IN DANGER (he's not like dead or anything, just in danger)
OMG i'm going nuts.
Obama is the most historical president ever and i am glad that he turned president on the year i turn 21. I just hope that he'll be safe and obviously my prayers goes to him, as all the others who have very high hopes for him.
he has over and again conveyed the message that life is never easy that we need to always be true to ourselves and do the right thing to persevere and thread on no matter how tough the trials may be.
he conveyed it clearly and has inspired many people from all over the world and if there are other non-earthly beings listening to him, is sure that he has thoroughly spoken from his heart.
that the world can change to be a better place.
and that is the place in life all needs to be.
GOD help him.

so now, there are some controversial event that happened pertaining his swearing in. that there was a screw up - obama vs roberts.



 people are pointing fingers as who to be blamed for the oath to get screwed up, but then again, i think it's just another historical event seemed to have leeched itself onto obama.
but no matter what, he has held himself well and composed and ended the oath proper.
chief justice roberts ended up just making obama looked bad, however, many are not caring much about it because obama's 18min 37sec speech totally blew all away!

So for two weeks Mum went off to Philippines for Christmas and New Year.
And came back with pictures and i since i went back to Philippines last March, i decided to let you all see some pictures from my Filipino life (:

been awhile

It was exactly 10 days ago since i wrote a proper entry and i must say till now i don't know what to write about.

Of course there has been activities going on with me for those 10 days (: of not writing an entry, however i think i just got lazy writing a post.

To my readers, i apologise.
Especially to the sisters who read to at least keep themselves updated whether or not i'm still alive, if i don't call or text them.
I know they are still around despite the current absence.
That despite the distance they'll be there when i need them, as always.
.... and vice versa (:

Well, there's nothing really exciting that happened - or at least no C4 bomb going off.
I actually just recovered from being sick. It was a horrible combination of cough, flu, on and off fever, phlegm, body aches, sore throat and topped with migraine.
Terrifying combination i tell you. and all thanks to SO MUCH FUN :D

I was afraid my migraine will be staying for quite awhile, but thank GOD i kicked it out.
Or merely just slept more to elevate the pain.
I skipped Web Application and SAD modules, and my weekend job too.
If there's one thing i can advice - AVOID TOO MUCH FUN. LOL!


Lately i haven't been in touch with my programming ability.
(The last three or four lessons, i actually smoked through it only.)
I'm wasting my knowledge and 'talent' for it! Seesh. I just hope FYP won't bee too much of a problem in year 3.
So there has been good changes that are not fully detailed out to us RP students yet.
However, i can feel it will do good for the value of the institution's diplomas.

Most, if not all, has shunned the thoughts of going to RP and has once or twice called it a REJECT POLY.
Pessimistic view and misjudgement has created quite a bit of hardship for us RP students to be looked upon as those students going to SP and TP.
I was here one thing due to bad grades, as i cocked up my O Levels.
However what saved me was that i got in to my chosen course in the school, which is Diploma in Business Computing.

I have my bad views of RP system however it's not that RP uses Problem based learning and 1D1P (One day one problem) x 16 weeks (1 SEM). I think it's GREAT.
My bad views was the absence of proper tests and final examinations.
I know i'm nutcase for wanting tests and exams coming from St. Hilda's with quite a lot of tests already.
However, as i mature, i realise that these exams are the best guage to how much effort you put in to study and how much you have understood in class.
And now, finally they are actually establishing examinations! I just hope i wont hate exams again. I must remember that i actually WANT exams (:

RPrincipal - MR YEO LI PHEOW

I have faith that the new principal of RP will create a better rapport between students and school. All the best to the current changes he'll be establishing. So far, it's all good.
Also, school hours will be changed for the seniors :D
Year 3s in 2009 will start coming in at 10am and they will end roughly at 4 or 5pm.

Details have yet to be announced.

Soon the last poly year for me will come and i will be graduating with the diploma i hope will do be good in the workforce. I also hope that the world economy that heavily depends on US economy will get better under the rule of President-elect Barack Obama.

His party's slogan, THE CHANGE WE NEED, hopefully will be THE GREAT CHANGE every citizen of Earth will benefit from.
He's not GOD nor can he really be all saint however, i will believe that he's the one who will create a dramatic change in this inhospitable world we are currently fighting to survive in.

Post graduation doubts will come when time draws near.
For now, my year 2009 is showing me that planning and going according to it will help me to control whatever obstacles i will be facing.
I fear a lot of things, but putting a reign over these fears is really doing a good deal for me.

There are a lot of fears and doubts that are still present and along with it, there are things in my past growing up that still bothers me.
As Shenath advises, i have to get over it. I have to deal with it, he's right.
Dwelling on it and thinking about those things will not make me feel any better.

I also have to think that being the person i am and being in my current situation of life now, i have to be thankful for whatever i have and not think of the what ifs and what could have been.
Through the years, i have grown up strong and on the right track of things despite not being at all Saint.
And i have to be thankful for the personality and talents that GOD has given me.

Nurul thanks for being always there for me, through whatever i'll be there for you.
